Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens is one of the largest purchasers of local, small-farm organic produce, and their commitment to quality is apparent from their food selection and the 36+ craft and specialty beers on tap. In addition to their unique and inviting interior, Stone Brewing World also features outdoor dining on their patio and a one-acre beer garden.
Orfila Vineyards and Wineries is an award-winning producer of ultra-premium small production wines. Tastings here are a treat, and they also offer wine clubs, virtual tours, and a small boutique.
Things to Do
One world-famous attraction in Escondido is the fantastic San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Locals know that one of the best ways to enjoy the park is by taking a twilight tour in the back of an open-air safari truck with an experienced guide by your side. You’ll see so many interesting African animals, including some of the park's newest baby arrivals, and finish off your trip with a refreshing drink and awe-inspiring scenic views.
Welks Resorts Theater hosts tons of fun events, from magic, shows to concerts, and always has something exciting to see or do. An unusual and colorful way to spend a day is Queen Califia’s Magical Circle, a sculpture garden by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle. The beautiful mosaics and modern sculptures are simply breathtaking.
The California Center for the Arts facilities in Escondido includes a 1,500-seat concert hall and 400-seat theater along with unique event spaces. The center produces more than 52 annual community events, and their offerings range from live events in the theatre to masterclasses in the art and dance studios to exhibits in the contemporary art museum and a host of additional educational opportunities.
San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park honors the men who fought on both sides of the Mexican-American War and hosts an annual event on the date of the battle along with walking and hiking trails, which are open for daily use. Additionally, Kit Carson Park is a true gem of the community. Named for the famous scout, this park has an arboretum, an expansive indoor sports facility, lighted outdoor courts and fields, playgrounds, walking trails, and three picturesque ponds.
The community of Escondido has more than 30 fantastic annual events, and some of them have traditions that go back over 60 years. From renaissance faires to plays and movies in the park to holiday festivals, there is always something fun happening in Escondido.
